Not sure what to make of this video other than i like to sleep at night with the window open... during storms or heavy rain i find it very theraputic... not sure why anyone would post a 10 minute video like this though?

Each to their own, i guess?

Actually, while not video, I have a "white noise machine" that I have set to sound like rain in my bedroom.

Just for grins I pulled just the audio as an MP3 which should play on any device. Put on a repeat loop it should serve as a white noise machine. If any want download below. It is an 8.7 MB download. Actually, going by the progress bar, I think the actual video is 10 hours not 10 minutes. I just did 10 minutes.

I actually DO sleep better with my actual white noise machine running.

You are right about the 10 hours, i read it as 10 minutes because i couldn't quite believe someone would post a black screen to YouTube only containing audio of thunder and rain, that it's 10 hours and not 10 minutes makes me laugh even more! :rofl2:

Btw, nice audio rip.

Could be cleaner on the loop transition but not bad. Audio quality could also be better as to bit-rate but, for something like this I think a 128 bit-rate of kbs is fine. I could go as high as 320 kbs but don't think studio quality is needed for something like this.

If anyone actually likes it as a white noise machine, and the slight chop on the loop transition bothers, I don't think I'd have much problem cleaning up the transition. Really it is just a matter of beginning and ending the clip with just rain and no thunder.

Actually it isn't a bad video on YouTube for its purpose. I may be wrong but don't think that you can put just audio on YouTube. At least the video is just a blank screen. Shoot, I have a 13.7 GB video of a fireplace that lasts ~8 hours. Sometimes, when watching movies or reading with low volume music going, I'll put it on the external screen for my laptop sitting on a corner desk for ambience. I also have three other "fireplaces" of shorter duration that still work well on a loop.

I forget off the top of my head what they are called but my TV provider (Sky) supplies Christmas Scenes every year at xmas via on-demand, amongst them is fireplace scenes, i download one very year prior to xmas day so it runs as a fireplace on the TV as we open presents etc on Christmas morning... it's become quite a tradition in our household and makes for a very pleasent atmosphere :)
This year they supplied UHD vidoes that were circa your 13GB but only ran for 60 minutes.

I use WinX YouTube Downloader for YouTube content, interstingly it shows the video i posted could be as large as 212.48MB depending on extension or quality selected (other options show by exanding the "Show All" button)....

I'll refrain from posting a link to the free version of WinX because it often prompts for another piece of their software to be installed from time to time that may cause issues, suffice that for me the free version works well and it's updated regularly.

If you would like to do so PM me a link to the software and I will make a decision as to if it should be made public.

Can't blame Terabit as he isn't even flapping. Actually he has his head under a wing napping from apathy. Hoped for more from KC but the first half was controlled by Tampa. This was expected as Tampa is the favorite in the game. They ranked higher during the season on all important offense and defensive stats. Still there is another half to go and you never know... Compared to Tampa KC just saeems to be playing slow so far...

Might have just needed to clear your internet cache.... I have mine set to clear every time I close my browser.

I'm not sure what the issue was but it was very strange for both IE & FF to stop working at the same time, if i remember correctly both browsers have a set cache limit of 250MB, certainly when it comes to drive space that should be no issue... i'll look into that in more detail tomorrow if i can but suspect this was a glitch... odd that i rebooted and it persisted though... in any case i think we can safely say the old man has the superbowl in the bag, again.

Not a matter of drive space but likely a case of a corrupted temporary internet file (cache) which may be shared by IE and FF. Both have a setting to clear the cache on exit which I use.

As to IE it would not surprise me as to any site that has issues as IE has been outdated for ages and no longer supported. I suggest that you replace IE with Edge. Yes, Edge can be installed and works fine in Windows 7. I use FF as my default browser but Edge for streaming. Edge is actually excellent for streaming.
