This is SO cool but also a bit scary.
Brain/computer interface done by the University of Texas, Austin campus, post grads. The VERY cool part of this is what it could mean, potentially, for robotic prosthesis for amputee victims and such. The 'scary' part is the potential for the world's military using it to develop 'cyborg' soldiers.
The good, the bad and the ugly... Sorry but just had to bring in a Clint Eastwood spaghetti western here. Just couldn't pass it up.
The good is that it has the potential for a quadriplegic to actually physically function.
The bad is that it has the potential for military usage.
The ugly is that it is currently a 'hood' over the head but, for actual usage, the electrodes could be implanted under the scalp.
