This morning I found my internet wireless turned off. I attempted to move the wifi switch in internet settings to off then on again. Now when the switch is moved to on iy immediately slides back to off. I checked internet options and found the following as my opening page instead of "blank page" which is my standard setting: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkI ... id=UE01DHPhttp://js.redirect.hp.com/jumpstation?b ... &tp=iehomeAny idea as to what its going on? Right now MBAM is running a full scan, and when it is done I'll run a scan with Windows Defender. No recent app downloads on the computer, but a Decible Meter from Google Play was put on my phone. The phone was left plugged into the computer overnight to maintain charbge while the new app calibrated itself. Thanks, Ron.

Since those links got truncated, I'm going to try reposting them without the http part.
Did you have any updates? Looks like it might be the fault of an HP update. I always get rid of HP Update on client machines, by the way. It's very ill-behaved. I think if it were Windows update you would have known that, right? And it is the hp link that looks like it is resetting the home page.
As to the wireless, again, check your updates. If HP has gotten an update in there, do a system restore, then disable or uninstall HP Update.

Thanks Patty.
It must have been the HP update, that program has been uninstalled. A system restore took care of the problem and I'm back online.
Windows gives either a request to 'allow update now or postpone' or a choice of 'update and shutdown' or 'update and restart' when powering off. Either way I'd have known an update was coming.
Ron

Yes, that's what I expected. Glad you are all set. Is your homepage back to being blank?
