Does the Kindle Fire HD offer a GPS so I can get rid of my Garmin? Thanks in advance.

Most tablets offer GPS but since they mostly rely on WI-FI it's not very useful going down the road unless you find a signal. You would need an internet service that is constantly on if that's what you are looking for.
You can get directions on the tablet and then just use those instead of being told when to turn.

I think most Smartphones have the ability as well, mine does through Google Maps I can even get Street View on it and be right outside my house. There is usually a WiFi signal around because BT has what they call BTFon and the waves are picked up via the routers.
