I want to try converting some of my MP4 video files to the AVI format. I prefer to use freeware software, or at least an inexpensive program. It appears that Freemake might be such a program.

Has anyone used Freemake; if so, good or bad recommendation? Or maybe someone can suggest another program for doing the conversion.

Thanks in advance......

I use 'Any Video Converter'.

I have the paid version but the free version will do what you want. Actually it will do more. Enter a web page address for YouTube and it will find and download the video.

BTW, if you use this I would suggest selecting 'Microsoft Products' under the Output Profile icon and selecting X-Box format. It works quite well.

Thanks, Jay. I downloaded and tried the program per your suggestions, but I'm having trouble with some of the parameter settings and the resulting files are pretty lousy resolution.

So I'm hoping you can provide some guidance on what settings I should use. I have a Browning trail camera that shoots some stunning 10 sec videos in MP4 format; however, because of the resolution (1920x1080), the video files are about 33MB in size. I was hoping to convert these videos to an AVI format and files size of about 10MB (which is the format & size from all my other trail cameras).

Thus far I have tried X-box format (one & 360) and customized AVI movie format, but the resolution is not good and I can't figure out how to change it. Any guidance appreciated.........

Jay, scratch that last request. I finally found how to change the video resolution and size. Even a blind hog finds an acorn now and then, lol.

And thanks......I do like the program.

Glad that you got it. :) I've been using AVC for years.
