I wrote "why is my computer typing in Chinese characters?" I have to paste text from Notepad.
This happens more often than I can count and I have never found a reason why or how to make it stop.
My language settings haven't changed since I installed Office 2010. It will go back to normal when I restart Firefox. It always does. Sometimes even Notepad characters are in Chinese.
Has anybody else experienced this lately?
Thank you.

Probably because what we post can be found on Google.

Thank you, MacDuffie,
I must admit the Chinese characters are very pretty and no matter how inane the conversation may or may not become, the Characters compel me to glimpse them another time.

I confess that I saw this on an XP machine some months ago. I did a search on it and found an answer. I do not recall what that answer was. Doing the same search today, I can only bring up references on how to get your computer to display Chinese characters. It's very discouraging. I tried 3 different search engines. This is how badly search as a function has been screwed up. Search is now so "smart" it can't find anything.

I found this as a translation. I am not kidding even though it does not make sense.

MacDuffie, my first memorable experience with searches was that I wanted learn how to protect myself from some very strange and intrusive neighbors who were also the apartment managers. Instead of finding ways to protect myself (the results were zero), when I turned the search around to learn how to spy on my neighbors, place listening devices, take surreptitious pictures, etc., the results were astoundingly abundant.
Nice job, andsome! I tip my hat to your pursuit of a literal translation.
