Outlook 2010/Win7/Firefox/AT&T Uverse
I think the error started this year or late last year. At any rate, this is a new one. When I open an email to read in Outlook (the program), I constantly get this pop-up. If I want to start a new email, I'm getting the same error. In the middle of typing a response, I get this error.
There are a million people asking questions, but there are no answers.
Is this a MS problem or an AT&T problem?
Thank you.

It may mean that Outlook is reaching out to download the content of the message. That content could be images in an HTML message. It may also occur to present you the status of the check for messages. I don't have Outlook 2010 to verify, but first check the Send/Receive options to make sure that "Show Progress" is not checked. Also, right click the Outlook icon in the system tray and see what options for messages are checked -- uncheck any that refer to status messages/connectivity. -steve

Stephen,
Do you mean literal images or is the text an image in HTML? "Show Progress" is not checked in status. Is the system tray only on the right side? Outlook icon on the left side (taskbar) and Rt Click only shows all Tasks (email, new meeting, new task, etc.) and "Pin program to taskbar." There are no boxes that are checked or unchecked that pertain to status messages/connectivity
Interesting note on Rt Clicking icon, is when I have sixteen emails or calendar pages open, sometimes it only shows the list of tasks instead of each page open. This is new, also. There is one other thing that is new and annoying - which I will NOT mention here, but I wonder if these are New and Improved Features in 2014, according to MS Updates.
Thank you.

I mean that the email you are opening is an HTML email and content that needs to come from a server connection to display. However, you get the message when composing a new blank message and not just when opening an email.
Yes, I'm specifically referring to the system tray/notification tray Outlook icon. The Task bar icon is simply a shortcut to the program to open in or to access it/make it active when it is already running.

I hid most of my icons - that's why.
Show network warnings and show new mail desktop alert are checked. I set this up in 2010, about a week before Office 2010 was released. The basics never change.
Thank you.
