I use a Logitech M310 wireless mouse on my Win 7 computer, and I prefer a fast speed. So I typically right click on my desktop and then go to the Personalize screen. From there I click on Change Mouse Pointers, Pointer Options, and then I select a fast pointer speed.

But each time I restart my Win 7 computer, my fast pointer speed is lost and I'm back to where it started at medium speed.

How can I get my mouse settings to save? My settings for Desktop Background and Screen Saver are saved, but not my mouse pointer speed. Thanks in advance.........

As I never install it I can't remember the name but do you have the Logitech software installed? If so you may have to do your settings through that software.

I don't think I ever installed the Logitech software, since both the wireless
mouse and wired lighted keyboard were plug & play.

But I'm thinking chasbox may be correct....I did not hit Apply before I hit OK, so I will try that first.

No I didn't hit Apply first, and that may be my problem. I will try that as my solution and let you know.........thanks.

Apply and OK both apply usually, but OK closes the dialog, too. I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case, but anything is possible.

Your system isn't sand boxed or anything, is it? If it is you would need to leave the sand box environment to make changes that would stick if my understanding is correct.

And I agree with Steve that OK should automatically include an Apply in almost all cases.

Steve & Jay - I always thought that OK included Apply, but it won't hurt to try chasbox's suggestion. And I guess I can go looking for my Logitech installation disk. It's certainly not a fatal error......just one of those aggravating issues that won't go away.

And no, my system is not sandboxed. Pete has sent me some websites to study this process, but I have not done it yet. I know Pete is high on sandboxing, but I think he has several business computers containing client info and data......my computers are used for simple personal things.

I use the M310 on my Win 10 laptop. I did not use the Logitech disk. Did PnP. Just tested and did have to hit Apply then Ok for the slide bar to stay put. Give it a shot. My last post was just a guess :P

Absolutely Steve! Many here consider me a teacher yet I consider myself a student...

Sadly, the Apply followed by OK didn't work for me.......I still lost my mouse pointer speed setting. Maybe it's a Win 7 thing, because pointer speed is retained on my Win 10 system.

Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions...........

Sorry bb
You could try checking the driver in Device manager. See if that shows anything. Or you could uninstall the mouse driver in Device Manager and restart. A driver will install then test
