If anyone is interested here is a comparison of drive performance. Compared are 2 mechanical drives, a 2.5 inch SSD and an M.2 SSD.

The sequential read/write is MB/sec.. The random read/write is IOPS. (IOPS == Input/Output Operations Per Second)

Of course the following is just a VERY rough reference as results will change depending on specific drives. This is just the result of my installed drives. Granted is the fact that my 2.5 inch SSD is not the fastest unit on the road the difference between it and the M.2 drive is off the wall. In all cases the higher the number the better.

I can't prove but really believe that the sequential read/write numbers are reversed on the 2 TB mechanical drive...
