I know I am suppose to keep all my drivers updated. When I check for driver updates using Windows/Device Manager, I always get the message that I am currently using the best drivers. But the message also suggests that I may want to check with the manufacture to see if there is something even better. My system has many drivers and I don't always know the manufacturer; plus, doing so would take an inordinate amount of time

Is there some reliable software tool that will check/update all my drivers for me? I see some of these advertised, but I'm also told to be cautious. Is there one I can trust?

I would not trust any of the driver update software. I also don't bother with most driver updates but there are exceptions such an network and video drivers. Device Manager should be able to tell you what these devices are from which you can then go to the manufacturer for possible updates.
