My current main system mouse/keyboard is just getting too flaky, especially the mouse but certain keys on the keyboard too. Hey, I can't complain as the current keyboard/mouse is 7-8 years old and, especially the mouse, gets heavy use.

Here is what I ordered; Logitech MK735 Performance Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Combo:

Nice. All of my keyboards and mice are Logitech. The keyboard I prefer is the wired Illuminated K740....all the keys light up, so I can work at night without any bright lights in the room. The mouse I like is the wireless M310.

All except for one of my sets is Logitech. I like Logitech for two main reasons.
1) Even though I use rechargeable batteries which makes this no big deal batteries seem to last longer with Logitech.

2) I like the unifying dongles that allow up to 6 devices to be connected to 1 dongle.

<edit>
Oh, the one I have that is not Logitech is a Cherry, Cherry is the actual brand name. It feels cheap but has lasted for quite a few years without issue on my laptop although I must say that the laptop does not get used often.

Also, the one I ordered is in the same MK series as the one currently in use but a newer model.

New keyboard/mouse arrived and seems fine. I didn't notice that the keyboard has a small LCD screen for battery status and such so I hope it does not have a large impact on battery life.

It shouldn't unless it is backlit. Enjoy. :-)

I don't think it will either as keyboard batteries tend to last just about forever anyway.

Not that it really matters as I use rechargeable batteries but I was surprised that it came with Duracell batteries. These things usually come with generic batteries that no one has ever heard of. ;)

I'll get off this with just one more observation. Usually with a mouse/keyboard they either just work or blow up and die. In this case my previous just slowly wore out. When they slowly just wear out you sort of just adjust and don't really notice. The difference between the old and new is a total different world. Even with my old mouse controlled games there is a big difference.

Since this is a newer model than my old I suppose that I should remove and re-install the combo software.
