Post subject: Windows Live Mail 2012
Post Posted: Sat Aug 08, 2015 8:53 am

Does anyone know how to move the whole stuff of Windows Live Mail 2012 to Mail in Windows 10? I had no problem to open my e-mail but wondering if WLM 2012 can go into Mail in Windows 10 Startup. I have searched through Google and see there are some successful and some don't about move WLM 2012 to Mail. A lot were saying if you have Outlook and there will be no problem to do this but mine is WLM 2012.

John

I've not used the native Mail in 10, I was using Windows Live Mail 2012 in Windows 7 then used it again in 8.1 and when that machine was upgraded to 10 it brought Live Mail with it so I could carry on using it.

I was very pleased as I had several email accounts and all my RSS Feeds I wanted to keep and they were all there when I clicked on the icon I had on the taskbar for Live Mail 2012.

Joan -- thank you for your time to reply to my message. Guess that would be better to have my icon on the taskbar for Live Mail 2012 than go to Start Menu then click Mail. That would be a lot easier to check my email via taskbar than Start Menu.

You're welcome John, hope you manage to sort it out to your liking.

In either case you should be able to pin it to the task bar.

I think I prefer Live Mail to even Outlook, I've just taken out a sub for Office 365 and was playing around with Outlook, oh dear not easy.

In Live Mail under my emails accounts there is the Storage Folders list with all my different places that have rules set up to send mail to their own folder.

I've been trying to work out how to make that list in Outlook, if I ask to make a new folder it wants to stick it in my Hotmail list. Even my RSS Feeds are stuck in the wrong place. When I set it up of course put my name then the particulars for each email account, now I can't find where to change the name, each account is for a different kind of email, like one for Craft, another for General etc.

I can see me sticking with Live Mail if I don't get this sorted out another problem is one of my email accounts, I can't remember the password for it so can't set that into Outlook.

Sorry for the rant but feel better now. ;-)
