Anyone else using Firefox here, I can't get spelling to work in it. If I'm using Edge I have no problems and if I'm in a forum and answering posts or such it will underline a word if I've not spelt it correctly or in some occasions just change the word to the correct one.

When I'm using Firefox even though I have my preference set to check the spelling as I'm typing nothing happens and there are times I know the word is wrong but it would just let me carry on and post or whatever and show the wrong word.

What I'm doing at the moment is if I think I have a wrong word is copy it and paste it into my free copy of WordWeb, the only trouble with that is if I've misspelled a word sometimes it can be hard to pick what the correct spelling is.

Anyone out there using Firefox point me in the right direction please. :)

Something to try

In Firefox Go to Options then Advanced then General. Look under Browsing and make sure "Check my spelling as I type" is checked

I'll check it again Chas but as I said I have my preferences set to check my spelling as I type but there's no harm having a look again.

Edit: Just checked and it was already checked.

Joan, I don't use Firefox, but I read where some users didn't have the correct dictionary installed and selected. Specifically, here's what one user said:
You can always see if spell check is enabled to the right language by right clicking in any input box. "Check Spelling" should be checked and there should be a "Languages" submenu which shows which dictionary is currently selected.

 You could be right there, not bragging but I've always been good at spelling but there are times when my fingers can't keep up with my brain.
