Just had a very enjoyable weekend break at a historic country house by the name of Thorseby Hall. There is a chain of thirteen country houses and hotels in the UK run by a company named Warner's. They specialise in two, three and five day breaks for adults only, no screaming kids. There is first class entertainment every evening, and the meals are worth writing home about. One of the events this weekend was a walk with birds of prey, and we were part of a small party of about a dozen or so who attended. I chose to carry a barn owl as it was very light, and only fifteen weeks old. I have posted a few shots. The very good looking young man with the barn owl is of course me, alongside 'Er indoors in the red coat. It was a lovely experience, and the bird soon settled down with me.

Thanks for sharing those, looks as if you had a good time. I've seen the adverts for them on the Television and the settings for all their locations are really wonderful.

The barns owls are beautiful birds aren't they, I bet it was wonderful to hold one.
