As discussed on another forum/posting, Windows stopped recognizing one of my 2TB Seagate USB external drives after I upgraded to Win 10. This drive was being used simply as a data drive, where I stored photos and videos taken by my game cameras. The drive currently contained 288GB of data....49,572 files within 147 folders (this has been a hobby of mine for about 5 years).
Luckily I had backed up the contents of this drive using SyncToy. And ST performed flawlessly in restoring my camera data to two other drives.
