Sorry to not have responded sooner but was out of town a couple of days.
I don't have a direct answer but possibly a few ideas.
1) Is .NET Framework 4 installed on the system? It is required.
2) Is Silverlight 4 installed on the system? It is required.
3) Check the sound applet in your Control Panel and try different recording devices. It is possible that the encoder sets up its own virtual device and another source is selected.
Hello Jay, thanks for your reply. Both .NET Framework 4 and Silverlight Version 5.1.30214.0 are installed. Encoder had the Digital Audio HDMI box checked for sound so I went to the control panel sound and the speakers were the default device. After changing the Encoder Audio to Speakers, I tried four different sources on line for videos and was able to capture both the video and the sound so hopefully this has corrected the problem.....again, thanks for your help !!
