Location: The state of confusion; I just use Wyoming for mail.
Interesting but nothing conclusive as the article states. I was disapointed to not see Eset or Security Essentials/Defender mentioned; mayhaps I missed a link to a second page... LOL! I wonder if the exclusions were due to the two being beneath notice or that they did well.

Thanks Acadia. :)

That list is actually incomplete. More than likely if there is a well known product like Malwarebytes that are on the list.

Couple of "truths" i've learned with all the testing.

1. The less known apps are probably better only because they aren't profitable to attack

2. The most effective applications are a pain in the neck.

The application Acadia was asking about in the other thread was BlueRidgeNetworks Appguard. He's correct it's not easy to wrap your mind around it. But set up with a bit of care and it will block every thing including all this new fileless stuff. If any one is interested I can post more detail in the advanced forum.

Another obsucre product I've been playing with is a driver called MZwritescanner. No progam, just a driver, controled by an ini file. Totally manually installed. No documentation. BUT, what it does is elegant. Any program file(exe, dll, drivers, etc) is detected the minute it drops anywhere on your system. It is hashed and blocked from executing until you act. Total pain but effective protection. Certainly will never be a worth wile hacker target.

Point is if you really need security, you need to be a bit invisible.
