Fact is, Microsoft MAY be getting its security act together, WAY TOO SLOW, agreed, but name me one security program that cannot be comprised.

Wow. I am just saying that the article is very old and out dated. It was patched in 2 days. As security software that hasn't been compromised. I know two and one of them is your favorite.
The threat landscape is changing daily and old articles aren't much help

Hey Acadia and Pete... You guys are almost always in agreement as to security. I think that this is probably one of those cases where something is said and taken in the wrong way. Let's all shake hands and be the friends that we are. There is absolutely nothing wrong with anything that either of you has said. It just 'looks' like something that could escalate and I hope to prevent that. Again, neither of you has said anything that I would consider out of line in any way. I just want to keep it that way. LOL! Now you can get together and gang up on me for interferring and be the friends that you are...

I over reacted, sorry Peter. But I thought that you liked the new Windows Defender. Yes, I know the article was old and stated such, but I thought it interesting. Anyways, sorry again. Acadia

Nothing to apologize for Acadia. Mainly I realized that scanning Email has a downside. And now that WD is become so popular it will be a target. Some the approaches new malware is taking is beyond belief. They have gotten very good a bypassing, the traditional AV type solutions. One thing I read about, just drops a dll that wouldn't register, with AV's reads it into memory and executes completely from their. None of the traditional methods would ever detect it. Fortunately it wasn't aimed at the home market.

Thanks for keeping us informed, bro. 2/3's of the programs on my system, security and backup wise, are because of you. Acadia
