As most of you know, I take a lot of wildlife photos and videos around my home. Many of these I save to both internal and external hard drives. Invariably, at the end of each day I get a notification from Action Center asking if I want to check out the new album they just created for me including some of my best photos. I create my own albums, thank you very much. How do I turn this Action Center request off?

Probably something is set to give you notifications. I would check in the Action Center, All Settings, System, Notifications and Actions. You can turn stuff on and off in here.

David, I went there but couldn't find a setting for offering (or not) new photo albums. Maybe it's called something else in Action Center that I'm not familiar with. I can live with it, as I just ignore that notification.

Just turn off all notifications for the Photos app.

I believe it is a OneDrive notification. Sign into your OneDrive account at onedrive.live.com and go to settings (gear in the upper right) Click notifications and uncheck the options there.
Additionally, just to be sure, go to Settings, Notifications, and scroll down to OneDrive to turn off the notifications, too.

Geez, Steve, what does that even mean? OneDrive recaps my photos.

Steve, I don't use OneDrive (folder empty) and I'm not sure I even have an account. So since I don't use it, why is it messing with my photos? Like I said........intrusive.

I don't think it is One Drive either. If One Drive the notifications would be via email where yours are not. Here is an odd case that I had with Windows local notifications. I was having an issue getting emails from my Hotmail account with Live Mail so I tried the Windows 10 Mail App. Since I run everything basically from my Task Bar Quick Launch I, of course, pinned the Mail App to the Task Bar Quick Launch. As soon as I did so it was not enough that I could look at the Task Bar and see that I had mail; Windows Notification would also report every email received. Since I switched to Outlook to solve the issue I was about to un-install the Mail App. As a first step I un-pinned the app from my Task Bar then got distracted and did not un-install the app. Turns out that there was no need to un-install as, as soon as removed from the Task Bar, I no longer got notifications from the app. The reason I express this story is in case you have the photo app in your Task Bar. If so just un-pinning may solve your issue. I MAY still remove the app but no longer need to do so to stop the notifications.

MacDuffie wrote: Geez, Steve, what does that even mean? OneDrive recaps my photos. LOL! It sure sounds interesting. They send you an email that shows you an album of photos you uploaded the previous day/weekend/whatever. Since bbarry notes that he doesn't use OneDrive at all (I presume that you are logging into Windows with a local account and not a Microsoft account?), I was wrong in my guess for where that notification was coming from. It is an email, but it also comes as a notification -- perhaps due to the email, I've not paid close enough attention. Interesting about notifications from the Photos app. I don't even have that as an option in my Action Center list of programs that can send notifications. I wonder why... -steve

Jay, I don't have Photos app on my task bar. Fact is, I don't even use it......I much prefer Photo Gallery.
After doing as Patty suggested and turning off notifications for the Photos app, the album issue has not reoccurred (fingers crossed).

Scroll down further and you will find Photos....turn it off.

Back to Bb's original point - I don't really care for the auto-generated album feature either. I mean it might be alright, but I'd like to be able to turn if off.

That's the curious part for me.

But now I'm curious......what is listed under the Senders that send notifications? In addition to Photos, I have Adobe, AutoPlay, Macrium, Battery Saver, Print and Security & Maintenance.

I've got a fairly long list, some of which I turned off. Most are for apps that I have installed. I don't have Photos in the list. -steve
