Since the latest update three problems have been noticed:
1. accelerometerst.exe won't load, "cannot find vcruntime140.dll. Reinstalling the program may solve the problem". No indication as to what program to reinstall, but I followed directions from several sites to uninstall and reinstall HP 3DriveGuard with no joy.
2. Windows Live Mail now automatically restarts after being shut down, sometimes two or three times before giving up.
3. My Samsung Galaxy S5 will not connect to the computer. Different cables tried, Developer Options > USB debugging turned on as per Verison directions. No luck.
Any ideas as to what to do?
Thanks.
Ron

Sorry that I don't think that I can be of much help other than to relate that the accelerometerst.exe and phone issues are likely related. If you have 'Mobile Data Protection System or 3D DriveGuard System' installed start by re-installing those items. Look at possible downloads from HP.
accelerometerst.exe: Purpose: accelerometerst.exe is a System Tray Applet from Hewlett-Packard Corporation belonging to Mobile Data Protection System or 3D DriveGuard System. accelerometerst.exe is a user invoked program and a normal part of PC operations.

Thanks Jay. I knew about the 3DDriveGuard System, but hadn't heard of the Mobile Data Protection System. I'll look into that.

Windows Live Mail problem solved: control panel > programs and features > windows essentials > uninstall / repair > repair took care of the problem.
Still working on the runtime and phone issues.
