I recently upgraded my laptop from Win 8.1 to Win 10.
I used a disc: Windows 10 Home Full Version.
During installation I was never prompted for the product key.
My question is, can I replace the HDD with an SSD and use a Macrium
Backup?

Should be no problem. You can also most likely use data migration software from the manufacturer of the SSD. That is what I have done in the past they are usually a lite version of Acronis.
