I have a wild idea. I am assuming that my Search function is not working because I am missing the SearchApp.exe file. However, I have a second Win10 computer where the Search function is working. Would it be possible to copy the SearchApp.exe file to an external drive and then move it to this computer? If so, where can I find the file on my second computer and where/how do I install the file on this computer? Is this a possibility?

Forget my wild idea. It so happens that the SearchApp.exe file already exists on both my computers. But for some reason the Search function is just not working on this newer computer.

Not sure if you ran into this list of potential fixes -- https://appuals.com/fix-windows-10-cant-type-in-search/I don't know that I'd try #3 or #6 and that #8 wouldn't work as you don't have any Restore Points available from before the issue. #7 is interesting, create a new User Account --- I've done this in the past to troubleshoot. There's no harm in creating a new User to see if the problem is evident in that new account or not. If you find that the problem only exists in the old User account and not in the new one, you could move data into the new User account/profile or decide that a reset/reinstall is the way to go.

No, Steve, I had not run across that website, even though I had tried several of the suggestions therein.
But I am very impressed with the step-by-step detail shown in that website...even I can follow most of what the author is saying (I like pictures, lol). However, I am currently exhausted from working on my Search problem, so some of these fixes will remain for another day.
Thanks for giving me that reference.

Would you believe...the Search Icon (and Search Box) on my Task Bar is now working!!
I just installed Quality Update KB5035845. After the Restart, my Search Icon was working. In its absence, I had recently installed Everything but didn't really care for it as much.
Happy Days. Sometimes Microsoft does get it right. Now if only they could/would correct my OneDrive woes.
