Hi, It seems that after I added my Gmail account in my windows 8 machine, I cannot find a place to log out of it. In reading google searches, I haven't found a way yet, does anyone happen to know how to do this? As long as I am still logged in on the win 8, I cannot access Gmail from online on my other Vista OS computer. All I can access are Gmail settings for the account and another place where I can set up a new Google email account. I'd like to access Gmail online so I can delete the almost 400 older messages or more that are in the folder. Does anyone know what I could do? Thanks for any ideas!! katy PS: After I posted this I thought of using Desktop in Win8 to go to IE and log into Gmail from there and that was the only way I could access the online Gmail without using Win8 Mail. I still don't know how to log out of Gmail from Mail in Win8 however.

When I saw all the Gmail mail pulling in, I had to find a way to delete them. It ended up being 1200 emails which went pretty fast once I could log in via Desktop/IE to online Gmail. There might be a quick way of deleting them within Win8 Mail but it would have taken me too long to figure out how, unless I was desperate

Could someone please define "Win8 Mail"? I have no idea what is being referenced.

That would be the Mail app (Metro), Jay.

Oh, OK. I kind of tend to forget about the Metro side.

I assume that the Windows 8 Mail application is connected to your Gmail account using IMAP. What seems odd is that while connected to Gmail via Windows 8 you are unable to access the same account from a different computer. According to Google, they allow up to 10 concurrent connections - http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=97150 - though they mention that a single session might use more than one connection. -steve

Steve, funny that you should leave your last post for me to respond... I decided to try a little experiment and opened IE9 and FireFox in Windows 7... I know, this is a Windows 8 situation but I think that my findings will apply. Anyway I went to G-Mail in both browsers. I logged in with no issue in IE9 then attemped to do the same in FireFox. The atempted login with FireFox failed with the following error: Attachment:

It would seem that G-Mail web based will only allow one log in at a time. but that is not totally true. While I cannot log in on different browsers at the same time I took the test a little further and did a mail check with Outlook while still logged in with IE9. There was NO issue. Just an observation, don't know if it will shed any light but it would seem that the 'access rights' are seperate between the web based and POP accesses. This also says to me that it is likely that the Windows 8 Metro Mail App is actually just accessing the web based email with its own 'skin'. I suspect that if it were to be plotted through that the Windows Mail App is really doing nothing but opening a Windows 8 Metro IE window and accessing the web based version of G-Mail.
