Hi guys, Without going into a long story I now have a dual boot with Win 7 Home and Windows 10. I am OK with this except I would like to upgrade Win 7 to Win 7 Ultimate.
When I was using Vista I purchased the upgrade to Win 7 Ultimate which worked fine. Now, my question is, can I use this same upgrade on my Win 7 OS to upgrade it?
As always my thanks in advance for any assistance.

I'm not positive but you MAY be able to just switch to an Ultimate key code.

Thanks Jay, but would that give me all the Ultimate features?

I'm actually not sure. In some versions of Windows everything is installed and the key code determines what is and is not unlocked. I'm just not sure if that only works during install or can be done later. I'm also not sure that Win 7 is included.

Thanks for your advice Jay.
I think you are talking about "Windows Anywhere (or Anytime)" where you can buy a new product code and upgrade. Unfortunately that is no longer being used.
Since this upgrade is really not important I'm not going to pursue it. I don't want to screw anything up.

Is the Windows 7 retail upgrade key that you purchased still in use on another machine? If so, then you can't use this key again. If not, you can try the Anytime Upgrade and enter your upgrade key in the box that comes up when you select that you have a key rather than trying to purchase another key. If it complains that you must use an anytime upgrade key (it shouldn't), you would need to run setup from your Windows 7 Upgrade disk to see it it will upgrade your Pro to Ultimate using the retail setup process. I vaguely recall having done this a long time back with a purchased retail key and the anytime upgrade application in Windows. That PC is no longer in use, but it had been a Home Premium version and I obtained an Ultimate retail disc. I don't believe I ran setup, just anytime upgrade...

I can't remember how I did mine, I had 7 Home and upgraded to Ultimate. I bought the retail Windows 7 when it was launched, you got 2 discs in the box, 32 bit and 64 bit, not sure how but I may have gone the route to add features to 7 and told it I had a key, which was Ultimate, put that in and after it did whatever it did I had Windows 7 Ultimate on my machine.
That's the machine I can't upgrade to 10, the CPU is not supported, it originally came with Vista. I don't mind and I'm quite happy to keep that machine running as it is.
