I recently updated Win 10 Pro to the Fall Creators ver 1709. Since then I can no longer open my guest XP Pro operating system. Following is the error message I get. I went to the VBoxHardening.log file, but I am not computer literate enough to understand the contents. I am currently running VM VirtualBox ver 5.1.22.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I'm sorry to say that you will probably have to wait for an update from VirtualBox.

Actually there is already a newer version. You are running version 5.1.22. The durrent version is 5.2.2.

Updating to the newest version would be the first step. After the upgrade you will likely have to install an associated newer version of Guest Additions.

Jay, I did an update to version 5.1.3 of VirtualBox, and now my VM XP Pro is running again. Thanks for your help & advice.

I know you mentioned version 5.2.2, but when the VirtualBox Manager alerted me to an available update, it installed version 5.1.3.

The updater would only look for 5.1.x versions. You would have to manually download and install ver. 5.2.2 As long as everything is working I probably would not worry about it.
