Well... WELL!!! Braggart! Exactly how am I supposed to catch up? ;)

Ahhh, I got it! ;) You may have 237 months but that makes it so you are used to it. For me, with just 1 month, it is just plain cool! ;) Of course this is an inverse theory that involves singularities and black holes. My research has shown that the appreciation of retirement is in direct proportion to the location of the nearest black hole that has been relocated via a singularity. Now Relativity comes into play. As you approach this relocated black hole the gravity well accelerates you to the proximity of the speed of light. As Relativity shows that time 'warps' as you approach this speed it become obvious that we have been retired for the same amount of time.

LOL! Don't even ask where that all came from. Let's just say that my mind works in mysterious ways when it works at all. ;)

Now that IS something to celebrate. GG and I going on 5 years next month. After a combined 62 years at the State Library, we left on the same day.

Alternatively you could just catch Superman on a bad day, and ask for a lift ;)

Well I'll beat the lot of you, in a couple of weeks it will be 14 years for me and to be honest I don't know how I found time to go to work there aren't enough hours in the day now to do all the things I want to do each day.

Well, maybe you will beat the lot of them except for me, lol. 14x12=168 months, as compared to my 237 months. :cboy1:

Did you take early retirement ? I was 60 when I retired and I'll be 74 on the 1st August, although some days I feel a lot older but the main thing is I'm alive.

Joan, I do like the 'alive' part of being retired, lol.

Yes, after being with the same company for 30 years, I took an early retirement at age 59-1/2. I turned 79 this past April.....and that is why Jay says my mental capacity is no longer at the speed of light. Or maybe he says my mental capacity is warped. I can't remember which.

But BB... I appreciate your 'warped' mental state. It perfectly matches mine.

I went out at 58-3/4 but had my full 35 years in. GG had worked 27, that's where we met. I had been telling everyone for years that I was not going to work one day past the 35, and I kept my word. The party they had for us was nifty but nothing compared to the party we had the following week at a Mexican restaurant with all of our closer work mates. :shs:

:rofl2: Mine must be warped then as it's never been the speed of light.

My mind is both warped (or worst) and as slow as a pregnant snail moving thru molasses. Don't believe me, just as GG. :mad4:

It is starting to seem that I got a nice retirement prize from work that I didn't know about... It has been 5 weeks and my employee discount is still active. Since I told the number two manager about this about 1.5 weeks ago it has to be deliberate. I'm sure that it won't be forever but it is nice for as long as it lasts. ;)
